  • Notes in class

I am dying over this note I found in Austin's backpack one day after school

I hope you can read it, it's hilarious!  Also, notice there are two flowers taped to it.  Oh man, the stuff kids do just never gets old!

  • Fall 2010 catch up

Nothing fancy my peeps!  I am just going to post a bunch of pics to try to catch everyone up to what we were up to last fall.  Yes, I said last fall.

    So...here....I....go....

Last October was a huge success!  I invited all of the females on my mother's side of the family to Arizona for a fun Hirschi Girls weekend getaway.  The weekend deserves a blog all to itself, but let's face it, I'm lazy.  So here are just a few pics.  And let's just say I haven't laughed so hard like that for a long time.  It was a BLAST!

After everyone left, I was lucky enough to get my cousin Dorianne all to myself for a few days!  We did a day trip to Sedona together and we had some great quality time together, even if we had to drive through and sit through a huge storm!  The best part was when we sneaked into a resort hot tub!

Next up was a quick fun trip to California and Disneyland during fall break, Krista & Jackson even joined us!  Our friends and neighbors, The Allan's, were also going, so it was fun to get to spend time with them as well.

Brody LOVED Space Mountain!  He went on it 3 times and couldn't get enough of it, Austin on the other hand, not so much.

We bought tickets for Mickey's Halloween Party, which meant the kids got to wear their costumes and go Trick Or Treating inside Disneyland!  It was great!

Austin & Brody got a pillow pet for Austin's birthday (I couldn't wait until Christmas to give Brody his!), and it was close enough to Jackson's birthday that we got one for him too!

Next up was a trip to the pumpkin patch, this time Grandma was in town :)

    Hay Ride

    Hay maze

    Austin's birthday celebration

    In line for the pinata

Last up, Halloween!  It was a very busy month!  We actually attended TWO church trunk or treats!  Shhhhh

    Brody = Peter Pan
    Austin = Ash (Pokemon Trainer)

We celebrated Austin's birthday by taking him bowling.  My parents are in town as well as some of my aunts & uncles, so they too joined in the fun, and my sisters too.  His birthday party is scheduled later in the month, so I'll post more on that after the event.  For now I asked Austin the following questions and these were his answers:

  • Brody starts Pre-school!

    Brody's First day of Pre-School

Last week was Brody's first week of pre-school.  I have been looking forward to this all summer, but as the time grew closer I began to get really sad about the fact that he is off to school.  Next year will be all day Kindergarten!  I was good though and didn't cry, maybe.  He goes MWF from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.  It's kind of a long day, but he would have to go to a sitter on Monday & Wednesday anyway so this works out perfectly.  So far he loves going and then showing me all the things he did that day when he gets home and I just eat it all up, and then kiss him, and hug him, and snuggle him to pieces.  And then of course he wants to play Peter Pan, that is when I know all is still right in the world.

So far his teacher, Mrs. Carrie (she teaches out of her home), told me that he loves to raise his hand and volunteer and answer questions.  Makes a mom feel good to hear that ya know.  He is in a class of 9 boys, yes you read that right, 9 boys!  Bless Mrs. Carrie's heart ♥

Now with him starting pre-school I may or may not be a little ecstatic about having Fridays from 9-2 ALL...TO...MYSELF.  I'll let you decide that for yourself, but let's just say last Friday, let's see, I spent $40 at the DOLLAR STORE (why do I love that place so much?!?), got to stroll around Sam's Club for at least an hour, and was able to go grocery shopping kid free.  Okay, so I really don't enjoy grocery shopping, but when it's kid free it makes it a fraction less miserable.

Bye, Bye Brody.....off to Mrs. Carrie's class!

Just wanted to add a few more pics of a big monsoon storm we had a couple weeks ago when I let Brody outside in his swim suit to dance around in the rain.

  • Happy 4th Birthday Brody!

    Happy 4th birthday Brody!

Ah, my baby is 4 and I just can not believe it!  We started the celebration last week by going to Red Robin to get his free birthday burger.

Then on Saturday we celebrated at Chuck E. Cheeses (his choice)

Buzz & Woody ice cream cake from Cold Stone...yum yum

and of course his favorite part...opening the presents

Thanks Aunt Tonee for the Buzz & Woody

Thanks Kim & Krista for the blanket & Phineas & Ferb toys

Yep, pretty much everything he got was either Buzz or Peter Pan.  He even got his Halloween costume early from Gamma & Grandad, a Peter Pan costume and it's soooo cute.  I don't have a picture of him all dressed up in it yet, will have to add that later.

STILL loves Buzz but has now added Peter Pan to his favorite list of characters.  His love for Peter Pan started on the Disney Cruise last year and hasn't stopped since.  I have to pretend to be Captain Hook more times in a week than I care to count.  Every once in awhile he lets me pretend to be Tinkerbell.

He is really excited to start pre-school next week, he asks me everyday "how many more days until I start pre-school?"

Has more "girl" friends than he does "boy" friends.  Not sure what this means, but I think he has a bit of a future as a ladies man...oh yes, yes I do.

He LOVES to sing pop songs with his mommy and I LOVE IT!

The best snuggler in the entire WORLD!!!!

    WE LOVE YOU BRODY!!!

  • Back to School.....um, already?

So summer break is over.  I know, it's still JULY!  Our school district is on a modified year round system.  Do you know how strange it feels to go back to school shopping in July?  Very strange.  We had a wonderful summer full of trips and fun, but I'll blog about them later....maybe...hopefully....some day.  Let's face it people, you are lucky you are getting this entry on the actual first day back to school!

Austin starts 1st grade this year and is in Ms. Marmie's class, with two of his BFF's I might add.  He gets to be in the same class with our next door neighbor, Tyler, as well as his friend from church, Jackson.  Good luck with this trio Ms. Marmie!

    Austin & Jackson

    Bye bye mom...sniff sniff

Good Luck in 1st grade Austin!

Next week.....Brody starts pre-school!!!  Wow, I have major mixed feelings about that one.
